So, you want to get started beekeeping!
A.B.C is a proud coordinator and supporter of the Community Hive Collaborative Purchase 2012. As individuals like yourself start to make a plan for their coming beekeeping season, you begin to wonder: what do I get, where should I source it, can it be made locally, and how can I get the best price?
Eliese Watson of A.B.C started the Communtiy Hive to help answer those questions for you! The Community Hive offers an opportunity for you to communicate live with other local beekeepers to get real time answers on the independant chat site. Also, the Community Hive Collaborative Purchase offers a gathering ground for artisans, volunteers, and beekeepers to come together and ensure that we not only gain access to the best equipment, but also locally crafted products.
The Community Hive Collaborative Purchase is dedicated to sourcing up to 80% of the beekeeping products available to the Community Hive Online Catalog within a 500mile radius of the city by 2013. This ensures that the products are not only made with care, but that the value of the product stays within the community, supporting local Community Hive members in their unique abilities. Interdependance in a healthy, local community includes social, economic, and environmental concerns, and that is what the Community Hive stands for.
